March 23-24 - Mt. Williamson Motel, Independence, CA

The Mt. Williamson Motel is on US 395, east side of the Sierras. It is owned by Cris Chater, a young friend of Martha, a tall, athletic, smart, woman. Her business model revolves around backpackers on the Pacific Crest Trail. She sells them a package. She meets them with a cold beer at the Kearsarge Pass road head, drives them to the motel. She provides loaner clothes. They shower, she washes their clothes. In the morning she cooks eggs and bacon and drives them back to the trail head. She is fully booked during the season. She has eight units and is trying to figure out how to expand.
